To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what recent assessment he has made of the strength of diplomatic and economic relations between India and the UK.

Answer

As the Prime Minister, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Maidenhead (Mrs May) noted when she visited India, this relationship matters more than ever. The UK shares a longstanding, broad and deep friendship with India, covering economic and commercial ties, defence and security, and people-to-people links.
