State Retirement Pensions: Females (16 November 2016)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, if the Government will review its policy on transitional arrangements to address the effects on women born in the 1950s following state pension equalisation.

Answer

The Government already made a concession worth £1.1 billion that will reduce the impact of these increases on those women most affected by them.

No further moves will be made to assist those women, all of whom will benefit in time from the new state pension.
