Russia: Territorial Waters (15 November 2016)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether it is his policy that Royal Navy warships should always escort ships of the Russian Navy when they are within UK waters.

Answer

All NATO Allies have a collective responsibility to monitor the path and activity of non-NATO ships passing through NATO areas of responsibility. The UK fully upholds its commitments in this regard and will act accordingly.
