Capita: Primary Health Care (26 October 2016)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what steps his Department is taking to ensure that NHS England is monitoring the performance of the contract awarded to Capita relating to primary care support; and if he will make a statement.

Asked by:
Karin Smyth (Labour)

Answer

My hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Nicola Blackwood) has convened meetings with NHS England and Capita officials to both understand the operational performance delivery of the Primary Care Support services contract managed by Capita for NHS England and to quality assure recovery plans drawn up and implemented jointly by NHS England and Capita. At ministerial and official level, the Department will continue to scrutinise the additional measures and resources that are now being employed to restore these essential services.
