Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment he has made of the effect of the Cycle to Work scheme on (a) levels of participation in cycling and (b) the bicycle industry.

Answer

The Department has not made an assessment of the Cycle to Work scheme.

The Cycle to Work Alliance (made up of Cyclescheme, Cycle Solutions, Evans Cycles and Halfords) has published research reports, based on extensive surveys of users that have focused on the sustainable transport and public health contribution of the scheme.
