PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Business: Environmental Impact Assessment (9 March 2016)

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with reference to her Department's Single Departmental Plan: 2015 to 2020, published on 19 February 2016, whether the report on progress in reducing regulatory burdens to business will include an assessment of the environmental impact.

The report will focus on progress in reducing by £470m, the annual cost of complying with Defra regulations by 2020. This will be achieved through simpler, more efficient and innovative ways of regulating, not by changing policy outcomes.
