PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Climate Change (9 March 2016)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with reference to her Department's Single Departmental Plan: 2015 to 2020, published on 19 February 2016, what her climate change adaptation objectives are for 2015-2020.

Asked by:
Kerry McCarthy (Labour)

Answer

We are implementing the UK’s first National Adaptation Programme report (https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/209866/pb13942-nap-20130701.pdf) which sets out our objectives on preparing for and addressing the impacts of climate change. As required by the Climate Change Act 2008, we expect to produce a further National Adaptation Programme report around 2018 which will update our objectives for adaptation. It will be informed by the findings of the second UK Climate Change Risk Assessment which we will publish in 2017 and the advice and recommendations of the Adaptation Sub-Committee of the Committee on Climate Change.
