PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Contraceptives (8 September 2015)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, whether postpartum contraception is being considered as part of NHS England's independent maternity review; and if he will make a statement.

Asked by:
Debbie Abrahams (Labour)

Answer

NHS England colleagues advise that the scope of the independent maternity review is from conception to the end of the postnatal period (six weeks after birth). Postpartum contraception is within scope insofar as it forms part of good postnatal care.
