Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how his Department is monitoring the effect of the measures in the Summer Budget 2015 on child poverty; and what steps he plans to take to address any such increase.

Answer

This Government has carefully considered all measures introduced in the Summer Budget.

This Government is committed to reducing child poverty, and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to get on in life.

As part of this we are introducing new life chances measures to drive action on addressing the root causes of disadvantage.
