PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Police: West Yorkshire (14 July 2015)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what change there has been in the number of neighbourhood police officers in West Yorkshire since May 2010.

Asked by:
Imran Hussain (Labour)

Answer

The table provided shows the change in the number and proportion of full-time equivalent police officers within the neighbourhoods function in West Yorkshire, as at 31 March 2010 and 31 March 2015.

As HMIC has made clear, there is no simple link between officer numbers and crime levels, between numbers and the visibility of police in the community, or between numbers and the quality of service provided.
