To ask the Secretary of State for Health, which foundation hospital trusts in England are required by their trust deeds to provide accident and emergency services.

Answer
It is for local commissioners, rather than National Health Service trusts of foundation trusts, to determine what services are required locally.
Foundation trusts are required via contracts with local commissioners to provide services, including accident and emergency services. This would not be set out in trust deeds.
