Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what the cost to his Department has been of negotiating a Direct Award agreement with South West Trains.

Answer

As of 17 June 2015 the Department has spent the following on external project advisers for work on the South Western Direct Award project:

Legal Advisers - £271,331.40 (ex. VAT)

Technical Advisers  - £395,454.12 (ex. VAT)

Financial Advisers - £168, 090.00 (ex. VAT)

Further invoices are expected for project work completed in June 2015.

It is not possible at this time to accurately estimate internal Departmental costs specifically associated with the Direct Award project.
