PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Iran: Terrorism (30 June 2015)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what recent reports he has received on whether Iran is providing (a) financial and (b) other support to international terror groups.

Asked by:
Bob Blackman (Conservative)

Answer

We remain deeply concerned by Iran’s links to designated terrorist groups such as the military wings of Hizballah and Hamas, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Iran’s support includes financial assistance, the provision of military equipment and training, and directly undermines prospects for peace in the region. We call on Iran to implement its obligations under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1747, which inter alia bans the export of military equipment by Iran.
