To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, if he will bring forward legislative proposals to repeal section 11(3) of The Supreme Court Act 1981 and introduce a new mechanism for the removal of a judge of the High Court or the Court of Appeal that does not require an Act of Parliament.

There are no plans to introduce a new mechanism for the removal of a judge of the High Court or the Court of appeal or to repeal section 11(3) of the Senior Courts Act 1981 (formerly known as the Supreme Court Act 1981).
