PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
EU External Trade: Iron and Steel (10 June 2015)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, what discussions he has had with the European Commission on dumping of steel products in EU markets by China and Turkey.

Asked by:
Stephen Doughty (Labour)

Answer

Ministers in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) have not had discussions with the European Commission on dumping of steel products in the EU by China and Turkey.

However, BIS officials are in regular contact with Commission officials responsible for anti-dumping investigations, and have had discussions with them last and this year about a specific case of alleged dumping, and related matters, in the steel market. The most recent contact took place on 9 February.
