PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Wind Power (10 June 2015)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, what assessment she has made of the investment value of projects which are in the onshore wind development pipeline.

Asked by:
Jonathan Reynolds (Labour)

Answer

Onshore wind has made a valuable contribution to the UK energy mix in recent years and we are confident that it will make its expected contribution to the UK’s carbon reduction and renewables targets. However, the Government is committed to ending new subsidies for onshore wind as soon as possible; in doing so, we will consider carefully the impact on investments affected by the measures that we bring forward.
