To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, what his policy is on bringing forward legislation on House of Lords reform during the course of the current Parliament.

Answer

The Government believes that there remains a strong case for introducing an elected element into the second chamber, but does not see this as a priority for this Parliament.
