Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what estimate she has made of the likely number of officers in the Metropolitan Police Service (a) overall and (b) in Redbridge in each of the next five years.

Answer

The size and composition of the Metropolitan Police workforce is an operational matter for the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, working with the Mayor’s office for Policing and Crime.The experience of the last five years shows that what matters is how police officers are deployed, not how many there are in total.
