Member for South West Devon, representing the Speaker's Committee on the Electoral Commission, pursuant to the Written Statement of 18 December 2013, Official Report, column 106WS, when he expects the Electoral Commission to make its recommendation as to whether the transition to individual Electoral Registration should conclude in 2015 to 2016.

Asked by:
Emily Thornberry (Labour)

Answer

The Electoral Commission will next report on progress with the transition to Individual Electoral Registration (IER) in June 2015. The Commission’s assessment will seek to consider the potential impact of ending the transition to IER in December 2015 to inform the UK Government’s decision on whether to make an Order to bring forward the end of the transition from December 2016.
