Right to Buy Scheme (27 May 2015)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, what the average proportion discount was of social rented homes sold under the Right to Buy policy in (a) England, (b) London, (c) London Borough of Islington and (d) Islington South and Finsbury constituency in each of the last five years.

Asked by:
Emily Thornberry (Labour)

Answer

Estimates of the discount as a proportion of the selling price can be derived from published statistics on the selling price and discounts allowed for each local authority district in England for 2013/14.

The data go back to 2011/12 but are not available on a comparable basis for earlier years.

The statistics are not compiled on the basis of parliamentary constituencies.
