Balkans: Politics and Government (27 May 2015)

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if he will meet his counterparts in the Balkan countries to discuss reducing tensions between Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia.

We continue to track developments in the Western Balkans closely. The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my right hon. Friend the Member for Runnymede and Weybridge (Mr Hammond), discussed our concerns about the political situation in Macedonia with EU Foreign Ministers at the Foreign Affairs Council on 18 May, and I met the Foreign Ministers of Macedonia and Albania in the margins of the Council of Europe Ministerial meeting on 18 May. As part of regular contacts with Western Balkans counterparts, we continue to raise regional security concerns.
