Public Buildings: Energy (18 March 2015)

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, what assessment his Department has made of the effectiveness of Display Energy Certificates in reducing the energy costs and improving the energy efficiency of public buildings.

The Department has made no formal assessment of the impact of Display Energy Certificates (DECs).

However statistical analysis has suggested that that overall Operational Ratings and energy consumption have fallen for public sector buildings with DECs.
