To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what steps she is taking to ensure a joined-up response to preventing avoidable deaths due to drowning.

Answer

Water safety is a cross-government issue involving a wide range of departments and organisations. In July, I convened a cross-government roundtable to strengthen collaboration, and we will continue working with partners to support water safety and help prevent avoidable drowning deaths.
