The numbers of band 3-5 prison officers who have had at least five years’ service in HMPPS at the end of the last three financial years is published quarterly as part “HM Prison and Probation Service Workforce Quarterly” statistics publication. The latest publication covers the period up to the year ending June 2026 and can be accessed via this link: HM Prison & Probation Service workforce quarterly: June 2026 - GOV.UK. Data on length of service be found in Table 4 of this spreadsheet: hmpps-workforce-statistics-tables-jun-2026_final.ods.
