PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
(2 September 2026)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, whether cyclists are legally obliged to stop at a zebra crossing across a cycle track at a floating bus stop.

Asked by:
Mr Richard Holden (Conservative)

Answer

As set out in the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions, drivers and cyclists must give way to any pedestrians already on a zebra crossing. This includes crossings across cycle tracks at floating bus stops. Failure to give way is an offence enforceable by the police.
