PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 4 March 2026 to Question 116225, what estimate she has made of when speed camera enforcement affected by the technical anomaly on motorways and A-roads will fully resume; and whether she will publish a timetable for restoration.

The Department is working closely with National Highways, the Home Office, and the National Police Chiefs’ Council to ensure the Home Office approved solution for cameras affected by the anomaly is implemented as quickly as possible, once rigorous testing is complete.

This anomaly originated from an upgrade to speed cameras which started in 2019 under the previous government.

The police continue to enforce speeding offences on the network, and the public must comply with the speed limits in place at all times.

We will keep the House updated on this issue where necessary.
