PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
(28 August 2026)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether artificial intelligence will be used to analyse responses submitted to the Independent Commission on Adult Social Care; and what steps will be taken to ensure that analysis reflects the views and experiences of respondents.

Asked by:
Ashley Dalton (Labour)

Answer

The Independent Commission on Adult Social Care is independent, and therefore Baroness Casey and her team will determine how responses submitted to the Big Conversation on Care are analysed and used to inform the Commission's work.

The Big Conversation is being delivered with Ipsos, an independent organisation with expertise in research, public participation and engagement, which will help ensure the conversation reaches people from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and communities across England. The Big Conversation will run in two phases, with a Public Panel on Care being established alongside the online engagement platform to enable more in-depth discussions and help ensure that a broad range of views and experiences are reflected in the Commission's work.
