To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of the 60-day visa curtailment period on the retention of internationally recruited registered nurses whose employers have had their sponsor licences revoked; and whether she has made an assessment of the potential merits of introducing a longer curtailment period to allow those nurses to obtain a new Certificate of Sponsorship.

Where issues relating to non-compliance are identified, UKVI will invoke the most relevant sanction. In the majority of cases, this involves the revocation of a Sponsor’s licence.

The 60-day cancellation period is intended to allow those who have not been complicit in the abuse to regularise their position in the UK, or make arrangements to leave.

We currently have no plans to extend this period but continue to keep it under review.
