Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether the Government has made an assessment of the potential impact of the provisions of the Mental Health Act 1983 on the ability of agencies to complete terrorism risk assessments prior to the discharge of convicted terrorist offenders.

Answer

Cases involving individuals convicted of terrorism offences are considered on an individual basis. This includes close liaison with Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements and other agencies, and consideration of the risks that an individual may pose, or be exposed to, upon discharge.
