PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
(13 July 2026)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what recent discussions she has had with Cabinet colleagues on the auction of occupied Palestinian land in the UK, in the context of guidance on businesses maintaining commercial relationships with illegal settlements.

Asked by:
Janet Daby (Labour)

Answer

Israeli settlements are illegal under international law, undermine the two-state solution, and contribute to instability and violence. We completely oppose the advertising of property or auctioning of land in those settlements, and we have updated advice to UK businesses to make clear that they should not engage in economic activity in illegal settlements, and warn them of the reputational and potentially legal consequences if they do so.
