To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what discussions he has had with the Secretary of State for Transport on road safety outside HM Prison Ranby.

Answer
Our thoughts are with the family of Philip Tetley, who tragically died on 1 December last year, on his way to work as a tutor at HMP Ranby. The road safety issue is being addressed urgently at local level. HMP Ranby is working closely with Nottinghamshire County Council about improvements to the safety of the Straight Mile, the road leading to the prison.
