Question Asked

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether she has received representations from North Sea operators regarding the offer to invest £17.5 billion in new domestic oil and gas projects in exchange for early implementation of the Oil and Gas Price Mechanism.

Answer

Ministers regularly meet with different stakeholders, to discuss a range of policy issues, including oil and gas companies.

The Government recognises domestic oil and gas will continue to have a role in the energy mix for decades to come.
