Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, whether public scrutiny arrangements will be established before devolution of budgets to the eleventh leader of Greater Manchester planned under the devolution agreement.

Answer

There is no devolution of budgets to the eleventh leader – budgets will be devolved to the Mayor when elected. There are already strong scrutiny arrangements for the Combined Authority through the Scrutiny Pool.
