PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Employment Agencies (27 January 2015)
Question Asked
Asked by:
Bill Esterson (Labour)
Answer
For permanent and fixed term staff on the core Defra payroll the information is not held centrally and could only be provided by incurring disproportionate cost.
The Department also uses workers for a time-limited period, who are not on the core Defra payroll, but are paid by a recruitment or employment agency. The number of such staff since 2010-11 is shown below:
Year | Number |
2010-11 | 119 |
2011-12 | 73 |
2012-13 | 73 |
2013-14 | 91 |
2014-15 (to Sept 2014) | 80 |
