PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Drugs: Licensing (11 December 2014)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, on what dates since 2 July 2014 he has discussed with GPs the use of off-patent drugs for new indications; and what the content of those discussions was.

Asked by:
Kerry McCarthy (Labour)

Answer

In developing our response to the Off-patent Drugs Bill, we have taken advice from clinicians and officials at NHS England, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, and taken account of views expressed by other stakeholder organisations. We will be discussing a number of issues the Bill raises at a roundtable stakeholder event in the new year and we plan to invite a number of general practitioner representatives.
