Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, how much his Department has spent on (a) consultants, (b) temporary staff and (c) contingent labour in each of the last five years; how many people have been so employed; what the length of contract of each such person was; and what equivalent civil service salary band each was on.

Answer

The Scotland Office has not spent any money on consultants or contingent labour in the last five years. As the number of temporary agency staff employed in each of the years is less than 5 in each year, detailed information is not provided for privacy reasons. In the last five years the Scotland Office has spent the following on agency staff:

2009-10 £78,093.65

2010-11 £47,332.42

2011-12 £21,445.63

2012-13 £56,081.61

2013-14 £77,253.38
