Question Asked

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, how much his Department has spent on (a) consultants, (b) temporary staff and (c) contingent labour in each of the last five years; how many people have been so employed; what the length of contract of each such person was; and what equivalent civil service salary band each was on.

Asked by:
Lucy Powell (Labour)

Answer

Spend on consultants, temporary staff, and contingent labour for each of the last five years is published monthly as part of the Workforce Management Information. These can be found at:

http://data.gov.uk/dataset/hm-treasury-workforce-management-information

https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/workforce-management--2

Information on how many people have been so employed; what length of contracts of each such person was; and what equivalent civil service salary band was on which they were could only be provided at disproportionate cost.
