PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Manchester Airport: India (20 June 2023)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, whether his Department has made an assessment of future trends in the level of demand for flights to India from Manchester Airport; and if he will make a statement.

Asked by:
Navendu Mishra (Labour)

Answer

DfT officials hold regular discussions with airlines, airports and international partners, including India, to facilitate global connectivity. Routes operated, and the flights on those routes, are a commercial decision made freely by airlines not by the Government. As this is a commercial decision, the DfT has not undertaken any assessment on future trends in the level of demand for flights to India from Manchester Airport.
