To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, whether he has made an assessment of the potential merits of merging the TransPennine Express with Northern Rail as part of his review of transport in the North of England.

No such assessment has yet taken place. The Secretary of State is currently considering the scope of the review of services in the north referenced in his statement on 11th May 2023.
