Answer

The Home Office collects and publishes data on stop and search on an annual basis. The most recent data, for the year ending March 2022, is available here:

Police powers and procedures: Stop and search and arrests, England and Wales, year ending 31 March 2022 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

In the year ending March 2022, there were 9,642 stop and searches carried out by Greater Manchester Police. Excluding vehicle searches and searches where the person’s self-defined ethnicity was unknown, 30% of these stop and searches were of people from minority ethnic backgrounds (excluding white minorities).

Data for the year ending March 2023 is due to be published in autumn 2023.
