Elections: Absent Voting (22 February 2023)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, what contingency arrangements his Department has put in place to ensure all postal votes are received and counted in the event of a postal strike immediately prior to the Council Elections on 4 May 2023.

Answer

The Government is in regular discussion with the Royal Mail to ensure planning is in place ahead of the May elections and will continue to monitor the position with regard to industrial action.
