Taxation: Fines (30 January 2023)

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, how many penalties issued by HMRC for unpaid tax amounted to (a) less than £1,000, (b) £1,000 to £9,999, (c) £10,000 to £99,999, (d) £100,000 to £999,999 and (e) £1,000,000 or above in each of the last five years.

This data cannot be provided as not all penalties are required to be recorded on the National Penalty Processing System (NPPS) system and so it does not provide a complete HMRC picture.
