Asylum: Housing (6 December 2021)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if she will make an assessment of the effectiveness of the Asylum Accommodation and Support Contracts and the performance of the three contracted companies, Clearsprings, Mears and Serco.

We are dealing with an unprecedented pressures on the asylum system, but despite this we continue to ensure the accommodation provided is safe, comfortable and secure.

AASC Service Delivery Managers manage contract performance on a daily basis. In response to the global pandemic, officials also have formal weekly meetings to ensure individuals are housed safely, services are delivered in line with their contractual obligations and with adherence to guidance from Public Health England (PHE) is followed.
