PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Ethnic Groups: Human Rights (5 July 2021)

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, with reference to the OHCHR report entitled Agenda towards transformative change for racial justice and equality, published in June 2021, whether the Government supports the proposals to establish a new international expert mechanism to further that agenda in the context of law enforcement globally.

The United Kingdom is committed to combatting all forms of racism, including antisemitism, both at home and abroad. We believe that one of the most effective ways to tackle injustices and advocate respect among different religious and racial groups is to encourage all states to uphold their human rights obligations. We have received the report of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and are reviewing it, including the proposal for a new international mechanism.
