Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, if he will make an assessment of the potential merits of bringing forward legislative proposals to extend legal protections for people that use force to defend themselves or others in self-defence.

Answer

The Government believes that the law on the use of reasonable force for self-defence, defence of another, defence of property or the prevention of crime is fit for purpose.
