Universal Credit: Disability (1 May 2019)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how many (a) seriously ill and (b) disabled people are no longer eligible for severe disability premium as a result of (i) natural and (ii) managed migration to universal credit since 16 January 2019.

Answer

Since the introduction of The Universal Credit (Transitional Provisions) (SDP Gateway) Amendment Regulations 2019, which came into force on 16th January 2019, claimants entitled to the SDP are not required to move to Universal Credit, even if they experience a change in circumstance.
