PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
India: Pakistan (18 February 2019)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what assessment he has made of the implications for his Department's policies of the recent escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan.

Asked by:
Sir John Hayes (Conservative)

Answer

We condemn in the strongest terms last week's appalling terror attack in Pulwama. The thoughts of the British Government are with the victims and their families. We are engaging the Governments of both India and Pakistan to encourage them to find diplomatic solutions and refrain from actions that could jeopardise regional stability. We are also working with the international community and through the UN Security Council to ensure that the perpetrators of the Pulwama attack are brought to justice.
