PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Asthma: North West (8 February 2019)
Question Asked

Dame Angela Eagle (Labour)
Answer
A count of finished admission episodes (FAEs) with a primary diagnosis of asthma for the age groups 0-17 years and 18 years and over in the Wirral local authority of residence, Liverpool City Region of residence, and North West Government Office Region of residence, for the years 2010-11 to 2017-18, can be found in the attached table.
A FAE is the first period of admitted patient care under one consultant within one healthcare provider. FAEs are counted against the year or month in which the admission episode finishes. Admissions do not represent the number of patients, as a person may have more than one admission within the period.
