PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
National Holocaust Memorial Centre and Learning Service (18 December 2018)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what assessment the Government has made of the potential effect of the Holocaust Memorial and Learning Centre on the trees in Victoria Tower Gardens.

Asked by:
Sir Edward Leigh (Conservative)

Answer

Arboricultural experts have been commissioned and their detailed advice has ensured that designs for the Memorial take full account of the valuable trees in Victoria Tower Gardens. Improved drainage and surface permeability, especially in the hard landscaping and paths, will create a healthier environment for the trees.
