PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Civil Servants: EEA Nationals (7 December 2018)

Question Asked

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, what restrictions there would be on the employment by civil service of EEA in the event that the UK leaves the EU without a deal.

Asked by:
Alison McGovern (Labour)

Answer

EU and EEA citizens who are currently employed in the Civil Service, will continue to be able to work and play a full role in the Civil Service, as they do now, following the UK’s exit from the EU. This will also be the case in the unlikely event of a no deal scenario.

As with all UK employers, the Civil Service needs to ensure that future recruitment is compliant with immigration laws.
